Fun Workshop Trains Volunteers to Deliver Energy Programs in Arlington Schools
- Do you like working with kids?
- Like delivering environmental education programs?
- Have free time during the day or in the after school hours (3-4:30 p.m.)?
If this describes you or someone you know, we’d love to hear from you!
EcoAction Arlington is seeking volunteers to delivery energy and environmental education programs in Arlington Schools, either during the day or during after school programs. Topics include sources of energy (renewable vs. non-renewable), recycling, solar ovens, etc. Volunteers typically work in teams or small groups and all materials are provided.
We’ll be hosting a training session for school volunteers on Tuesday, September 23rd, 10 a.m to 12 p.m. at Fairlington Community Center, 3308 S. Stafford Street, Arlington. Get details and sign up here.
Can’t make the training session? No worries!
You are still welcome to volunteer and can learn the ropes by shadowing or working with experienced volunteers. The activities can be picked up quickly and kids are pretty forgiving!
If you know of anyone who might be interested in volunteering please share this message with them or contact EcoAction Arlington. We’d also appreciate your help in spreading the word on neighborhood listservs and with community groups, friends and neighbors.
And, if you know of any educators who might be interested in taking advance of our free programs, we’d love to hear from them as well. Please share this post with them!
