Join EcoAction Arlington volunteers in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a day of service. For years, EcoAction Arlington and many dozens of volunteers have been returning to Barcroft Park on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a way of bringing the community together to celebrate and serve and we invite you to join us.
During the event, which draws the largest volunteer turnout of the year, volunteers will be removing trash and debris from Arlington county’s largest stream watershed. Groups, families, and individuals are all welcome.
Last year, our volunteers included church groups, business groups, and scouting troops. We collected dozens of bags of trash and recycling. Interesting finds included a few bicycle frames, a car bumper, tires, a kiddie swimming pool, a rug, a grill, and a toilet! Yes, a toilet!
Sign up today‘ and please help spread the word by sharing information with others who might also be interested in volunteering.
Can’t make it on the 20th? We invite you to make a New Year’s resolution to volunteer with EcoAction Arlington in 2014 and we’ll keep you posted on upcoming opportunities to get involved.
