Help Protect Arlington’s Tree Canopy!
Arlington’s trees are crucial in fighting climate change, reducing air pollution, managing stormwater, and cooling our neighborhoods. However, current funding challenges put Arlington County’s tree planting programs at risk.
EcoAction Arlington is calling on supporters like you to thankthe County Board for providing funding for tree programs in the Arlington County Fiscal Year 2026 budget. The proposed budget presented by the County Manager includes $250,000 to support the critical work of planting and maintaining trees throughout Arlington. Please voice your support so we can continue this work to protect Arlington’s environment and enhance equity in underserved neighborhoods.
Our top priority in Fiscal Year 2026 will be to plant trees in underserved neighborhoods with low tree canopy coverage prioritizing affordable housing apartment properties and places of worship. If sufficient funding is available to support maintaining trees on private property, we plan to prioritize funding for tree maintenance to residents impacted by federal job cuts and funding freezes.
