This past Saturday, Arlington Energy Masters once again surpassed expectations by completing energy efficiency improvements in 32 affordable housing units at The Berkeley apartments in South Arlington. A team of 30 newly trained volunteers lead by eight certified Energy Masters from previous years and two drop-in volunteers surged past our goal of 28 units for the day with these impressive results:
- Units completed: 32
- Compact florescent light bulbs (CFLs) installed: 153
- Outlets, light switches, and vents sealed: 334
- Bath aerators installed: 17
- Kitchen aerators installed: 11
- Shower heads installed: 5
- Toilet tummies installed: 16
- Power strips installed: 9
Many thanks to the dozens of volunteers who spent their Saturday improving the lives of others. Special thanks to Patrick Tallarico of Enventive Consulting for the donation of the t-shirts donned by our volunteers and to the Crystal City Chipotle for donating lunch to feed our hardworking crew. It’s because of the generosity and support of community members like these that we are able to celebrate such great accomplishments!
Our next workday is scheduled for January 11th and your support is always welcome. Whether participating as a drop-in volunteer to support teams, or donating food and supplies, we welcome your involvement. Learn more about the program and our impact on the community.
