Arlington’s School Board plays an essential role in setting school policy that promote academic excellence and the overall well-being of students, but it should also be a key driver to ensure that its facilities and operations align with County goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and promotes broad environmental sustainability and access to nature. While school board elections are nonpartisan, voters can participate in the Arlington Democratic Party endorsement vote starting on April 20, 2024. Voters will select two candidates to run in the general election to fill two seats.
To help voters assess where the candidates stand on the climate and environment, EcoAction Arlington and Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions have asked candidates to fill out a questionnaire.
