Congratulations to Bridie McCulla
Winner of the EcoAction Arlington of Cupcakes 35th Anniversary Cupcake Contest! at the EcoAction Arlington Green Living Expo on Sunday, April 21st.
Bridie’s winning tasty treat was inspired by several EcoAction Arlington programs, represented in the miniature landscape on top.
- A candied orange slice references the Solar Raisers program
- Hard caramel rain drops are in tribute to the rain barrel program
- Lemon thyme from the Potomac Vegetable Farms is in honor of the Tree Canopy Fund
Many of the ingredients used to make the cupcake were organic locally sourced. In case you missed them, here’s a little sampling of what you missed …
Bridie McCulla grew up in Richmond in a family that loves to cook and eat. After she studied languages in college and worked in Italy after graduation, eating great Italian food convinced her that her true calling was culinary. Bridie directs the pastry program at Northside Social, as well as creating the desserts for its sister restaurant, The Liberty Tavern.
